What is ICPSR Direct?
ICPSR Direct
allows UGA students, faculty, and staff to download data directly from the
ICPSR site. If you
need more information, please contact John Prechtel, Data
Librarian, at prechtel@uga.edu or
(706) 542-3472.
May I request that an ICPSR study be placed on the Data Services server?
You may complete and submit our online Request ICPSR Data Form or contact the Data Librarian at prechtel@uga.edu or (706) 542-3472. The data will be added promptly and you will be notified when it is available.
How do I get the password to download ICPSR data files from your server?
The password is the same as the one for GALILEO. For more information on obtaining the current password, please click here for further instructions.
I'm unable to obtain the password for accessing your data because I am not affiliated with the University of Georgia. Can I still access your files?
Due to licensing agreements/restrictions, we are unable to provide non-UGA users with access to ICPSR data. However, much machine readable data from the Census Bureau and other U.S. Government sources is available without a password. A partial listing of U.S. Government data in our collection can be found at http://dataserv.libs.uga.edu/usgov/index.html.
Not all of the files listed on our website have been mounted on our server at the present time. However, you may request that a particular file be mounted on the server.
Please contact prechtel@uga.edu about availability if you do not find a particular file for which you are looking or if you have any other related questions.
This feature will be updated periodically. Please check with Data Services if you have questions.
