Founded in 1946, the Roper Center is a large archive of public opinion data containing thousands of polls conducted by leading survey organizations in 75 countries. Coverage starts in the 1930s. Services offered to the Roper Center's member institutions include access by request to a large percentage of the datasets in the data archive, access to iPOLL - an online database of survey questions and responses, a searchable catalog of the Center's archival holdings, and online analysis of selected data sets. Access to datasets. University of Georgia faculty, students, and staff may request data sets held in the Roper Center's archive by contacting the Data Librarian listed at the bottom of this page. Please note that UGA is entitled to a maximum of 50 dataset requests per year. iPOLL provides access to over a quarter-million questions asked since 1935 as well as demographic group data for over 35,000 questions. iPOLL gives the complete text of questions, responses expressed as percentages, and citation information. Search capabilities include subject, word, survey firm and date. RESTRICTIONS: Roper iPoll and datasets from the Roper Center's restricted archive may only be accessed by University of Georgia faculty, staff, and students.
